The Teaching and Learning Excellence Foundation is proud to launch a transformative project dedicated to improving and supporting the mental health of adolescents and youths in Zambia. The initiative adopts a holistic guidance and counseling approach designed to address the unique challenges faced by young people both in school and out of school.
Central to our project is the recognition that mental health and poverty are intricately linked. By providing opportunities for out of school youths in skill development opportunities and financial empowerment, we aim to alleviate poverty among youths, ultimately fostering better mental health outcomes. Our programme will offer comprehensive training that equips participants with essential skills for employment and entrepreneurship, empowering them to take charge of their financial futures.
In addition to skill development, we will provide robust business development support for youth led initiatives, encouraging creativity and innovation among the younger generation. By nurturing youth-driven businesses, we aim to create sustainable income sources that contribute to the overall mental well-being of participants reducing the stress and anxiety associated with financial instability.
Furthermore, our holistic guidance and counseling services will address the emotional and psychological needs of adolescents and youths. Trained Counselors will work alongside participants to develop coping strategies, build resilience and promote positive mental health practices.
Through this integrated approach, our project seeks to create a supportive environment that not only improves mental health but also empowers young people to thrive economically and socially. By alleviating poverty and enhancing mental wellness, we are committed to paving the way for a brighter future for Zambia’s youth.
